"A wedding is a day.  A marriage is a lifetime."

Engaged Encounter is designed to enhance and broaden the pre-marital instruction

provided by the church and is recommended for all engaged couples seeking a

life-giving relationship with each other, with the church and with God.

Cost is $250 per couple.

Scholarships are available.

Register soon for Upcoming Episcopal Marriage Encounter weekend

The Rev. Carrol Travis calls for participants: "We hope to have at least 10 couples signed up by the Easter deadline. The weekend is scheduled for June 27 - 29 at Canterbury conference center, but we need to have a minimum registration of couples in order to firm up plans or postpone it; there will be room for additional registrations up to the June date. Bishop Howe supports this weekend experience and is sending a commendatory letter which we will include in the packets of brochures that we are mailing out to all our parishes and missions.

It has been several years since we have had an EME weekend in Central Florida, even though there is a RC weekend every quarter in Orlando. My wife and I have been involved in Worldwide Marriage Encounter since 1969 (EME began in 1971 as a licensed affiliate) and it is still the best tool we know for enhancing and strengthening sacramental marriage.

The only requirement for couples attending is to have a good marriage and to plan to stay married for life. The benefits are lasting and outstanding: while the rate of divorce in the church is basically the same as in the secular culture, among Encountered couples it is only 2%. Besides this, it is a fun and exciting weekend where couples can rediscover the romance and passion from their earlier days of dating and matrimony.

We have known couples to claim it was better than a second honeymoon in Hawaii!

You may phone me for more information at 321-639-5099 or 321-537-5820. The same numbers are good for anyone wanting to receive a brochure and application or just to talk about the weekend. Couples who may have attended a weekend in the past should be aware that the weekend has been updated recently and they are welcome to come again on an Anniversary Weekend. Anyone can also check our website at www.episcopalme.com or www.wwme.org which has a link to our site."
